Fred Purser, Tenor Saxophonist for Hamilton jazz legends, The Washingtons always said "Never Been Better" if you asked him how he was doing. Fred had a profound effect on my life and my music. This song is for Fred. At a recording session with Fred in the early 00's I asked Fred (then in his early eighties) if he wanted to play one more and call it a night. You can hear his reply, "We're just getting started!" at the end of the song. Fred Purser 1920-2017.
